Reporting infringement

Use the takedown form, or the Report copyright link under any post or comment, or send a written notice to the agent above. Under 17 U.S.C. 512(c)(3) a notice must include: your physical or electronic signature; the copyrighted work you believe was infringed; the link to the material; your address, phone and email; a statement of good faith belief that the use is not authorized; and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner. Knowingly false notices can make you liable for damages under 512(f).

When a notice is valid we remove or disable access to the material promptly and tell the member who posted it.

Counter notices

If your post or comment was removed and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, file a counter notice while signed in. It must include your signature, what was removed, a statement under penalty of perjury that it was removed by mistake or misidentification, your name, address and phone, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district. We send a copy to the person who filed the notice. Unless they tell us they have filed a court action, we restore the material no sooner than 10 and no later than 14 business days after we receive your counter notice.

Repeat infringers

Each valid takedown against a member is a strike. A strike is withdrawn if the material is restored after a counter notice. A member with 3 strikes can no longer post or comment, and we may close the account in appropriate circumstances.
